This nano reef by Youtube user digitallyblue is a great example of clean and simple design. The tank is a rimless ADA 8.5 gallon, with a 5 gallon sump and a 9 gallon refugium. It’s lit by LED spotlights, and uses a Vortech MP10 for water movement. Great job!
Check out this video we made while playing with the Light Studio software for our Vertex Illumina. This shows you how much control you have over color and intensity with this fixture!
This is a quick video we made showcasing the effects of our newly installed Red Auxiliary Modules in our Vertex Illumina LED fixture. We only have a couple of the red modules installed over our 6 foot tank (I would prefer 3 or 4), but it really goes a long way for popping the reds, pinks, purples, and orange colors.

A big order of Quality Marine fish and inverts arrived on Friday. Notables include a juvenile Chevron Tang, McKosker’s Flasher Wrasses, and baby Cubicus boxfish!
Check out the quadruple reactor system we built using Vertex UF-20 media reactors. We installed it on our customer’s 3,000 gallon reef system! It’s primary purpose is for running GFO for phosphate removal, but there’s plenty of room for other media. Individual reactors can be removed and serviced while the others stay running.
We’ve revamped our display tank to be a bit more modern. We removed the deep sand bed (yuck), cut off the black trim and bracing, and glued in a new glass brace. Sure makes it look a lot bigger!
